I. Introduction

With the Sun a hand and a half from the horizon, the shadows lengthen as the breeze lifts the boys hair and the sound of his laughter.
Father and Son stroll down the river bank, the fishing was good today!
A little further down, the boy looks over at a pile on the bank.
“Whats up with those rocks Dad?”
“Rocks like that don’t stack themselves!”
“No son, they surely do not.” These were put here.
A strong man was selected from each tribe many years ago, One tribe, one man, one rock.”
“That was the day God brought our people into this land.”
“That’s cool pops! And is that another pile, just jutting above the water there in the current?”
“Good eye boy! It sure is! an identical pile of rocks!”
Wow Dad! How in the world did they get those out there on a boat?
And how did they manage to drop them just so , that they would sit on top of each other in the middle of Jordan?”
“Smart lad. You’re sharp! such a thing would be just about impossible!”
“No, those were stacked there by the same guys on the same day as these on the bank.”
“You’re pulling my leg.”
“No son, I mean it. That was the day that YAHWEH made the Jordan river stand up into the air.
Thousands of feet of water, stood right up, stacked up in fact, so that we could walk over into this promised land.
THe people that used to rule here, they shook with terror as the One true God, our God did what He said He would and brought us here.”
Son, remember what I say, YAHWEH promised us this land, and God always keeps His promises.”
“Hey son, do you remember what I told you when you were Just a baby?”
“Dad, how could I forget? We go over this every day!”
“C’mon, say it for your old pops, say it again:
“Shma Yisrael, Adonai, Eloheinu Adonai Echad.”
Deuteronomy 6:4 NKJV
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
“OH yes boy, that’s right.”
“These stones are here for a reason: That we may remember.”
“They are here so that we will never forget: God will take care of His People!!!!!!
“Son, hear me and never forget: We serve the One true God. And He always keeps His Word.”
Abounding Grace, I have chosen to use this opportunity tonight, to remind you that this same Jesus, the one who has spoken to you and made promises to you, is He who cannot lie.
It is impossible for God to lie.
So it is that every promise God has ever made, will come to pass!
If all the world denies Him and says it is not so, stand firm and know that God cannot lie!
For example: He let us know this:
Romans 8:35–39 NKJV
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Folks, I don’t care who says what!
They may be the worst person in the world, they may be the best person in the world.
But if anyone tells you that Sin or loss or sickness or pain can get between you and HIs love, they are wrong!!!!!
Friend, do you have any idea tonight, just how much God loves you?
Now maybe you say that’s great and all, but listen, youre’ not living my life, you don’t know my struggles.”
Okay, fair enough. I know sometimes the mountains seem so high and insurmountable.
I know.
But consider Romans 4:20-21. This is what Paul said about Abraham, the father of Faith.
Here was a man with a word from God that seemed utterly impossible!
But watch this:
Watch and learn:
Romans 4:20–21 NKJV
He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
God gave me that verse early this morning.
Somebody needs to hear it and know:
God is going to take care of you!
“Abraham did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief.”
Now folks, there is doubt, like doubting Thomas, a guy who requires evidence to believe.
And then there is active unbelief. Just choosing to deny the promise no matter what!
I’d rather have doubts and ask God for help, than an attitude of blanket disbelief!
But regardless: neither pose any problem for the promises of God!
He’s simply too big.
And He always keep His Word!
Neither doubt or unbelief can stand before the weight of God’s Word!
Everything He’s ever told you and promised you, is true and it stands!
And that truth friend, will stand till the world is on fire and way, way beyond even that!
There is a man who has counted 7, 147 promises to us in Scripture. Wrote a book about it.
I don’t know! I can’t beginto count them all!
But how bout just these few for starters:
Now as I read these to you, I want you to visualize the very Word of God, like an IV!
A direct infusion of truth and righteousness and peace direct to your inner being!
As we read it, recieve it:
Joshua 1:9 NKJV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Psalm 119:105 NKJV
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Isaiah 41:13 NKJV
For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’
2 Timothy 2:13 NKJV
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
Hebrews 10:23 NKJV
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
1 John 1:7–9 NKJV
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
James 1:5 NKJV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
John 14:27 NKJV
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 15:4 NKJV
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Psalm 37:4 NKJV
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Philippians 4:7 NKJV
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Mark 9:41 NKJV
For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
John 14:2 NKJV
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Isaiah 40:29 NKJV
He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Matthew 7:11 NKJV
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Psalm 37:4 NKJV
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Philippians 4:19 NKJV
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Galatians 6:9 NKJV
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Psalm 23:6 NKJV
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
James 4:7 NKJV
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Psalm 147:3 NKJV
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
Romans 8:28 NKJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Listen folks, you cannot suprise Jesus!
Nobody can!
Nothing can!
He’s got this whole thing all figured out!
Okay, so last verse here and I’ll let you go. Acts CH4 Vs 13-28
This blew me away!
Now remember in Luke where it says :Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him?
Absolutely awesome!
Then just a vew verses down He says:
Luke 24:44–45 NKJV
Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
Acts 4:13–28 NKJV
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done. For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed. And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things? The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’ “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.
